2 Gold Medals at Cyprus Wine Competiton

Zambartas Wineries was awarded with 2 Gold Medals during this year’s Cyprus Wine Competiton, held in April. An international jury of enologists, sommeliers and wine writers judged a large selection of Cypriot wines.

Our Mataro-Yiannoudi 2017 and Koukouvagia Red 2017 both were awared with a gold medal and judged among the top of the competition.

Gold Medal at International Rose Championship

Our Zambartas Rosé 2018 has been awarded with a Gold Medal in the International Rose Championship 2019. Our Rose ended 4th in the Competition, with a overal score of 89.5 and was one of the only 6 Gold Medals.

We are very proud that our deeply couloured signature Rosé was judged to be among the very top in a competition with entries from all over the world, representing different Rosé styles.

The high level 15 member judging commitee was chaired by Master of Wine and  well known Rosé specialist Elisabeth Gabay, and included other high level tasters such as John Salvi MW and Romana Echensperger Mw.

Silver Medal at International Rose Championship 2018

Our Zambartas Rose 2017 was awarded with a Silver Medal at the 2018 edition of the International Rose Championship held in Krakow in March, under the auspices Mrs. Elisabeth Gabay MW and Amorim Group.

Over 200 Rose wines from 15 different countries participated and only 30% of the the contestants received a medal. The Jury consisted of a variety of very experienced people in the wine industry, such as Masters of Wine, journalists, enologists and sommeliers.

The silver medal shows our that our Rose continues to be a wine of class and quality and we are excited to see it can stand next to quality Rose wines from all over the world!

Bronze Medal at the International Rose Championship

We were delighted to find out that our Rose 2016 received a Bronze Medal at the first edition of the International Rose Championship 2017, held under the auspices of Rose expert Elizabeth Gabay MW.

With more than 180 samples entered from varied countries such as France, Australia, Spain, Italy and Israel, we are very happy that our Rose was one of the 50 wines that got awarded a medal. Rated with over 84 points, it shows that it can compete with rose wines from all over the world and be judged among the top!

Decanter World Wine Awards 2017

We are delighted to see that our wines performed well again in this year’s Decanter World Wine Awards! We are especially excited that our Shiraz-Lefkada 2013 received 91 points; the patience to age this wine a bit longer in our cellar was rewarded.

Our 2017 competition results are as follows:

Shiraz- Lefkada 2013 – Silver – 91 Points

Xynisteri 2016 – Bronze – 88 Points

Rose 2016 – Bronze – 87 Points
